Crafted in Bowie
Where History Meets Handmade

Rooted in Heritage, Built for the Future
Old Town Bowie has great bones: walkable blocks, historic storefronts, and a rail-town story worth preserving. Crafted in Bowie gathers that energy and points it toward the future, building a maker district where our historic character meets hands‑on creativity, and potential becomes prosperity. The idea is to create a community where cafés and markets hum, small manufacturers test new ideas, and visitors return because the experience feels distinctly, unmistakably Old Town Bowie.
We’re launching a maker district in Old Town Bowie: a neighborhood that will be dedicated to making. It will activate a district-wide network of studios, light-manufacturing spaces, shared equipment, and storefronts, enabling aspiring entrepreneurs and residents to learn skills, create products, and grow viable companies and jobs.

What We Are Creating
Crafted in Bowie centers on curiosity and collaboration. Morning coffee that turns into a conversation with a ceramicist. A market where you discover a new jam made two blocks away. A mural that tells a community story. The district will be designed for everyday life; lively, walkable, and proudly local, while providing an on‑ramp for makers. Characterized with pop‑ups that lower risk, shared production that reduces cost, mentorship that supports learning, and a “Crafted in Bowie” certification that helps customers discover what’s made here, the district will foster new growth and energy.
